Slovakia President Pellegrini plans to visit Ukraine
In his first official interview since being elected, President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, announced plans to visit all neighboring countries, including Ukraine.
This is reported by Tasr.sk, Ukrinform saw.
Pellegrini spoke of his plans for the presidency at a panel show on the air of the national public broadcaster, RTVS, on Sunday.
"I plan to visit all neighboring countries, including Ukraine," Pellegrini was quoted as saying.
However, he did not specify the dates for the trip.
As noted by Radio Prague, Peter Pellegrini confirmed that he initially planned a state visit to the Czech Republic, scheduled for June 26.
Also, during the speech, the new Slovak head of state repeatedly emphasized the importance of Slovakia's membership in the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on June 15, the Speaker of Slovakia’s Parliament, Peter Pellegrini, officially took the oath of the country's president after winning the election in April.
