Ukraine's president, Poland's parliament speaker discuss protection of Ukrainian sky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Marshal of the Polish Sejm Szymon Holownia discussed cooperation in protecting the Ukrainian sky.

That's according to a statement posted on the president's website, Ukrinform reports.

Zelensky thanked Poland for comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in countering Russian aggression and emphasized the importance of the Sejm's support for the country.

"Thank you for the Polish advocacy for Ukraine's future EU membership. We really feel this support from Poland, and I hope for a positive decision of the EU by the end of June. We also need your support on the eve of the NATO Summit," he said.

Zelensky spoke about the situation at the front and the Russian aerial terror. The parties discussed cooperation to protect Ukrainian skies.

Zelensky noted the level of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries and the initiative to hold a summit of the heads of parliaments of Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in Bialystok.

Particular attention was paid to the results of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, which was attended by Polish President Andrzej Duda, as well as preparations for the signing of a bilateral security agreement.

Holownia arrived on his first official visit to Ukraine on Wednesday.
