Ukraine will see new steps to support it from Europe and Washington in the coming weeks.

This was stated by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs John Bass at a briefing in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He noted that the United States has taken an unprecedented step to redirect defence products intended for other countries, including missiles for air defence systems, to Ukraine, where there is the greatest need. The Deputy Secretary of State also mentioned the agreement within the Group of Seven countries to use the proceeds of assets frozen outside Russia to combat the consequences of Russia's aggression.

Bass expressed confidence that additional steps will be seen in the weeks ahead as Ukraine meets with friends and partners in Europe next week and as President Zelensky and other senior Ukrainians visit Washington next month.

The US Under Secretary of State also said that during the visit, he consulted with Ukrainian government officials on steps to protect the country and help Ukrainians.
