Zelensky prolongs sanctions against Russian oligarchs
President Volodymyr Zelensky enforced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to extend sanctions against a number of Russian entities and individuals, as well as a number of Ukrainian moguls affiliated with Russia, including Dmytro Firtash, Pavel Fuks, and Vadym Novinskyi.
That’s according to Presidential Decree 376/2024, which puts into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of June 24, Ukrinform reports.
Control over the implementation of the decision was entrusted to the NSDC secretary.
The Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Security Service and National Bank, was tasked with ensuring the implementation and monitoring the effectiveness of sanctions imposed on designated entities and individuals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall inform European Union authorities, those in the United States of America, and other nations on the application of sanctions and raise the issue of introducing similar restrictive measures.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, this May, Volodymyr Zelensky enforced the NSDC decision on sanctions against a number of Russian media outlets.
