Zelensky on Orban's visit: This is clear signal of how important unity in Europe is

The visit of Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Ukraine is a clear signal of how important it is to maintain unity in Europe.

This was emphasized in a video message by President Volodymyr Zelensky, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Ukraine is the first in many years and for the entire duration of the war. And what is important, it is immediately after the start of Hungary's EU presidency. This is a clear signal of how important it is for all of us in Europe to remain united and take joint steps. We have talked a lot about the path to peace, and it is to a just peace, a lasting, honest peace," the President said.

He also thanked Hungary for participating in the Peace Summit and for supporting the communiqué.

"He told us about what we have already achieved with our partners in the work between the summits, preparing the second Peace Summit. There are good developments, and there will be even more. I invited Hungary and Prime Minister Orban to join the relevant efforts. We also have good bilateral results," the Head of State noted.

He noted that "this is a completely different relationship between Ukraine and Hungary: it is concrete and we take into account mutual interests."

"We agreed on various details - economic, political - that our teams will deal with. And it is very important that we outline our relations, our achievements in a new document - in an agreement that will define good neighborliness for Ukraine and Hungary," Zelensky summed up.

As reported, on July 2, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived on an official visit to Kyiv.

Zelensky and Orban agreed to work on a global agreement that would resolve the differences between Ukraine and Hungary and could be based on a mirror approach.
