Zelensky meets with U.S. Senate delegation, House Speaker

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Zelensky held negotiations with the Republican Speaker after his meetings with the leadership of both parties in the U.S. Senate and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Earlier, Zelensky confirmed to journalists that support for Ukraine and the lifting of restrictions on strikes against military targets inside Russia were the main topics of the negotiations.

Before that, the Ukrainian leader discussed military support for Ukraine with a U.S. Senate delegation.

"I had an important meeting with a U.S. Senate delegation led by Democratic Leader Senator Chuck Schumer and Republican Leader Senator Mitch McConnell, along with senators from both parties. We discussed the current battlefield situation and American defense support. I informed them about Russia's increased missile terror against Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure," Zelensky wrote on Telegram.

At the same time, he thanked President Joe Biden, both chambers of Congress, both parties, and the American people for their support of Ukraine.

Zelensky leads the Ukrainian delegation at the NATO 75th anniversary summit in Washington. The program of the visit includes his meetings with representatives of the U.S. government and leaders of foreign countries.
