Zelensky holds five-way meeting with leaders of Indo-Pacific countries
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has held a five-way meeting with the leaders of the Indo-Pacific countries in Washington for the first time.
The Ukrainian leader announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"For the first time, I held a meeting in a five-party format with the leaders of NATO's Indo-Pacific partner countries. We discussed the rapidly changing situation in the Indo-Pacific region, emphasizing the need for unity and coherence in security matters," Zelensky said.
He added that in the face of relentless Russian attacks, Ukraine urgently needs to bolster its air defenses with additional air defense and electronic warfare systems.
Zelensky thanked the partners for their unwavering solidarity and support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. He also thanked Australia and New Zealand for their announced defense packages.
"We appreciate this crucial assistance for our country and our people," he said.
