Zelensky congratulates France on Bastille Day
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated France on its national holiday - Bastille Day.
The head of state posted a letter of congratulations on his X account, Ukrinform reports.
"Congratulations to France, President Emmanuel Macron, and the entire French people on their national holiday, Bastille Day," Zelensky wrote.
According to him, Ukraine appreciates "France's leadership in defending freedom, equality, and fraternity throughout history and today by supporting Ukraine's fight for freedom and long-term peace in Europe. A strong and united Europe."
"We will always be grateful for France's unwavering military, political, and other assistance, which has resulted in thousands and thousands of lives saved for Ukraine. And above all, we are grateful for French decisiveness," Zelensky said.
The head of state wished the French people peace, unity, and prosperity.
"Proud of our friendship and partnership," Zelensky wrote.
On July 14, France celebrates the republic's main national holiday -- Bastille Day -- which was approved on July 6, 1880.
