Zelensky discusses results of Peace Summit with Vatican Secretary of State

During a meeting in Kyiv with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the consequences of Russian aggression, air terror, and the results of the Peace Summit.

“I had a meaningful meeting with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. We discussed the consequences of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the constant air terror, the difficult humanitarian situation, and the results of our meeting with Pope Francis in June in Italy. We paid special attention to the decisions of the first Peace Summit and the role of the Vatican in establishing a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine,” Zelensky said after the talks.

He thanked the Vatican Secretary of State for supporting Ukraine.

As reported, Cardinal Parolin, the Holy See's Secretary of State, is on a visit to Ukraine to grant the Ukrainian shrine, the All-Ukrainian Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Berdychiv, the status of a minor basilica and to express the attention that Pope Francis pays to the situation in Ukraine.
