Government renames Ministry of Reintegration to Ministry of National Unity

The government has decided to rename the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories to the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“Today, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksii Chernyshev as Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Unity of Ukraine. The government, for its part, has decided to rename the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories to the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine,” he wrote.

Shmyhal clarified that this institutional strengthening will help to form a new quality of work and interaction with the multi-million Ukrainian community from all waves of migration.

“The creation of the Ministry of National Unity will also contribute to the formation of a strategy on how to return Ukrainians to live and work in Ukraine,” the Prime Minister added.

According to Shmyhal, the new Deputy Prime Minister should present a clear plan for the development of the ministry, the team and key KPIs in the near future.

“From the first day of the Russian invasion, unity has been our main weapon. Unity within the country, unity with our partners, unity of Ukrainians around the world,” the Prime Minister said.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksii Chernyshev to the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.
