Ukraine's PM outlines key task for Ministry of National Unity

The Ministry of National Unity will focus on developing programs and incentives to encourage Ukrainians living abroad to return home.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during a government meeting on Tuesday, December 3, Ukrinform reports, referring to a video published on the prime minister's official Telegram channel.

"While presenting the internal resilience plan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need for institutional strengthening in our policy toward Ukrainians abroad -- those from all waves of migration. One of the primary tasks for the new ministry and its minister will be to create a strategy with programs and incentives to bring Ukrainians back to live and work in Ukraine," he said.

He stressed that the unity of Ukrainians, both at home and abroad, is a vital tool in the fight against Russian aggression. Unity, he added, is a cornerstone in shaping the government's policy programs.

Earlier reports said that the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories has been renamed the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine. Oleksiy Chernyshov, who served as CEO of Naftogaz since November 2022, has been appointed Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity.
