Ukraine convenes extraordinary meeting of IAEA Board of Governors due to Russia's attacks
Ukraine is convening an extraordinary meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors on December 12 in response to Russia's attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
This was announced on social network X by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Ukrinform reports.
“Ukraine is convening an extraordinary meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors on December 12 in response to Russian attacks on our critical energy infrastructure. Russian strikes on substations identified by the IAEA as important for nuclear safety & security pose a global threat,” Sybiha said.
As Ukrinform reported, Zaporizhzhia NPP was on the verge of blackout for the third time in November due to Russian shelling, which damaged one of the power lines.
On the night of December 3, a Russian drone hit an energy infrastructure facility in Ternopil, leaving part of the city without power. In the Rivne region, an energy infrastructure facility was damaged during a nighttime raid by the Shahed, just like in Ternopil.
