President Volodymyr Zelensky, following talks with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron, stated that all the participants of the meeting expressed their desire for the war to end as quickly and fairly as possible.
As reported by Ukrinform, the head of the Ukrainian state shared this in a Telegram post.
“I had a good and productive trilateral meeting with President Donald J. Trump and President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. President Trump is, as always, resolute. I thank him. I also extend my gratitude to Emmanuel for organizing this important meeting. We all want this war to end as soon as possible and in a just way. We spoke about our people, the situation on the ground, and a just peace,” the Ukrainian President wrote.
He added that all the parties at the meeting agreed to continue working together.
“Peace through strength is possible!” emphasized the President.
As reported, the heads of state and government from nearly 40 countries gathered in Paris for the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral, which had been damaged in a fire five years ago.
President Zelensky, who arrived in Paris on Saturday, is also holding several bilateral meetings throughout the day. Notably, he has already met with Austrian Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.
