Trump says Ukraine may receive less aid during his presidency

Donald Trump, the U.S. President-elect, stated in an interview on Meet the Press that Ukraine might receive less aid during his presidency.

He made this comment during an interview with NBC News, which was recorded earlier in the week and aired on Sunday, according to Ukrinform.

When asked by the program's host whether Ukraine should prepare for less aid from the U.S., Trump responded: “Possibly, sure.”

Trump also mentioned that he is working to stop the war in Ukraine.

At the same time, he confirmed that he has not spoken to Vladimir Putin recently.

“I don’t want to say that because I don’t want to do anything that could impede the negotiations,” Trump remarked.

He further declined to guarantee that the United States would remain in the NATO but noted that the U.S. would maintain its NATO membership if treated "fairly" in terms of contributions.

As reported by Ukrinform, Trump on Sunday called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and the start of negotiations.
