Trump says “formulating concept” to end Russia's war against Ukraine

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump says he is currently formulating a concept to end the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.

He said this in a phone interview with The New York Post, Ukrinform saw.

“I’m formulating a concept of how to end that ridiculous war,” Trump said after a visit to Paris, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky among other leaders.

According to Trump, he spoke with Zelensky about how to end the bloody conflict that has been raging since 2022.

“He wants to make peace,” Trump told the newspaper. “He wants a ceasefire. We didn’t talk about the details. He thinks it's time (for peace talks — ed.), and Putin should think it's time because he lost – when you lose 700,000 people, it's time. It’s not going to end until there’s peace," Trump added.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Zelenskyy said after talks with Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron that all parties to the meeting expressed a desire for the war to end as quickly and justly as possible.
