Health Ministry determines directions on overcoming corruption in healthcare

The Health Ministry has identified ten areas of work to tackle corruption in the healthcare sector.

Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun wrote this on Facebook on December 9.

"Corruption and embezzlement of budget funds lead to poverty, diseases, low expectancy and quality of life... We are creating new anti-corruption tools, rules and procedures to eliminate not only manifestations, but also the causes of corruption in healthcare," she wrote.

According to her, international procurement of drugs, vaccines and medical products have become successful anti-corruption solutions. Due to this innovation, it became impossible to make a profit on the sale of drugs at inflated prices.
