Court reinstates Nasirov as head of Ukraine's State Fiscal Service
Kyiv's District Administrative Court has reinstated Roman Nasirov as head of Ukraine's State Fiscal Service (SFS), his lawyer, Liubomyr Drozdovsky, has told Ukrinform.
"The District Administrative Court has satisfied the claims and ordered to reinstate Roman Nasirov as head of the State Fiscal Service," the lawyer said.
The court also ordered to pay salary to Nasirov for the period of his forced absenteeism from February 2, 2018, when the Cabinet of Ministers decided to dismiss the official. Given that the salary of the SFS head reaches UAH 18,000, he must get about UAH 198,000 in compensation for 11 months, the lawyer said.
On January 31, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the decision to dismiss Nasirov as head of the State Fiscal Service based on the conclusion of the National Agency on Civil Service.
On January 17, Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk raised the issue of Nasirov's dismissal from office due to his dual citizenship, which was confirmed by Britain. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman then replied that he was waiting for an official motion from the Finance Ministry on Nasirov's dismissal.
On January 18, the Finance Ministry sent a motion to the government on Nasirov's dismissal. According to the motion, the reason for this step was information received from the British Embassy in Ukraine that Nasirov has British citizenship.
Nasirov, in turn, said he considered Danyliuk's initiative regarding his dismissal to be illegal and filed a statement with Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office regarding a crime committed by the finance minister.
