In Mariupol, the representatives of the embassies of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in Ukraine have discussed the joint counteraction to Russian propaganda and outlined the areas of cultural cooperation.

"After Russia attacked Ukrainian ships, our region gains the attention. Therefore, the representatives of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia arrived in Mariupol, Donetsk region, to demonstrate once again their support to Ukraine... The issues of joint counteraction to Russian propaganda and the areas of cultural cooperation were discussed at the meeting," Head of the Donetsk Regional Military and Civil Administration Oleksandr Kuts posted on Facebook.

According to him, Ambassador of Lithuania to Ukraine Marius Janukonis said during a meeting of the joint delegation with representatives of the Joint Forces, regional and Mariupol authorities that their visit was a symbolic one.

In turn, former foreign minister of the Republic of Lithuania Petras Vaitiekunas stated that "it is important to reach not only the top offices but the hearts of Europeans as well." He added that Mariupol and Donetsk region have something to offer and show to Europeans as Europe is interested in Ukrainian culture and modern history as well as in the experience of counteracting the Russian aggression.
