Ukrainian Canadian Congress supports Ulana Suprun

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) is concerned by the ruling of Kyiv's District Administrative Court regarding Ulana Suprun's suspension as acting health minister of Ukraine.

"The UCC is concerned by the ruling of the District Administrative Court in Kyiv, which bans Dr. Ulana Suprun from carrying out her duties as Acting Minister of Health of Ukraine," the Congress said in a statement issued on February 5.

The diaspora called on Ukraine to continue to implement the health care reform.

"We recognize the significant accomplishments of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and encourage Ukraine to continue down the path of reform, as exemplified by the work of the Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Ulana Suprun, and should not be politicized," the statement notes.

As reported, the Ukrainian Health Ministry is holding consultations with lawyers regarding Ulana Suprun's suspension as acting health minister by Kyiv's District Administrative Court.

The Kyiv's District Administrative Court had partially granted a statement by MP Ihor Mosiychuk and banned Doctor Ulana Suprun from taking any actions aimed at implementing the powers of the health minister.
