Thirty-three convicts transferred from occupied Donbas – Denisova

Thirty-three convicts have been transferred from the occupied Luhansk region to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Liudmyla Denisova informed this on her Facebook page.

"Today, 33 convicts, who were sentenced before the outbreak of the 2014 war, arrived in the town of Shchastia (23km north of Luhansk). They will continue to serve their sentences in Ukrainian prisons," she wrote.

Denisova also recalled that in December 2018, 42 convicts were transferred from the occupied Luhansk to serve their sentences in the territories controlled by Ukraine. Twelve of them have been already released due to the completion of their term of sentence.
