New school year begins in Ukraine
A new school year has started in Ukraine today, September 1.
This year Ukrainian schools have not conducted the traditional "First Bell" ceremony because of the coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, educational institutions located in the "red" zone started the new school year with online learning.
This year the educational process in Ukraine will have some peculiarities. The Health Ministry has developed general rules for schools starting from September 1.
In particular, temperature checks will be obligatory for school employees. Anyone with a temperature of 37.2 C or higher will not be allowed to work.
The pupils of grades 5-11 have to wear face masks in school corridors, but they are not mandated in classrooms. For the pupils of grades 1-4, face coverings are not required.
In addition, if a pupil is diagnosed with coronavirus, the whole class has to self-isolate.
