Health Ministry planning to vaccinate teachers before next school year starts

The Health Ministry of Ukraine intends to vaccinate teachers against COVID-19 before the 2021/2022 school year starts, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has said.

“As for educators, we must carry out [vaccination] before a new school year starts. That's what we are planning to do,” Stepanov said during an hour of questions to the government held in the Verkhovna Rada on March 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

Stepanov reminded that vaccination in Ukraine is based on the cascade principle: the next stage of the vaccination campaign may begin at a time when the previous one has not yet ended.

As Ukrinform reported, on February 24, 2021, Ukraine launched a coronavirus vaccination campaign.

As of March 5, 12,481 people received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Ukraine.
