There are ‘certain difficulties’ with obtaining vaccines, Stepanov admits

There are certain difficulties with obtaining COVID-19 vaccines due to the insufficient capacities of pharmaceutical manufacturers.

“The Ministry of Health continues to make efforts to get additional batches of vaccines both in accordance with the concluded contracts available to the Ministry of Health and within the framework of global COVAX Facility which Ukraine has joined. There are certain difficulties with obtaining these vaccines. The whole world, not only Ukraine, experiences such difficulties. They arise because the capacities of pharmaceutical manufacturers that produce vaccines [are insufficient],” Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing.

As reported, Ukraine recorded 7,893 new coronavirus cases over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,554,256.
