Ukraine registers South Korean AstraZeneca vaccine

Ukrainian Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov has signed an order on the registration of the AstraZeneca vaccine produced in South Korea, which is to arrive in Ukraine under the COVAX initiative.

"Today [April 20] I signed an order on the registration in Ukraine of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is manufactured on the South Korean site. This is the drug that will be delivered to us as part of the COVAX initiative,” the minister wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, the delivery of 367,000 doses of this drug is expected on April 22. Part of the batch of vaccines will be used for the second dose for the citizens who have already been vaccinated with CoviShield, the rest of the batch - for the first dose.

The minister stressed that the AstraZeneca and CoviShield vaccines are identical. “This means that manipulation of skeptics about the threat to the second dose of vaccination will remain manipulation."

As reported, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko stated that 367,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine are expected to be delivered to Ukraine as part of the COVAX initiative on April 22.
