Government extends emergency situation regime in Ukraine until June 30
The Ukrainian government has extended until June 30 the emergency situation regime throughout the entire territory of the country to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The government extends the emergency situation regime until June 30. The emergency situation primarily concerns state government bodies and their constant readiness to counter the pandemic. At the same time, it is another reminder to all Ukrainians that we must remain careful and cautious. After all, the health and lives of our loved ones depend on this,” Shmyhal said.
He also stressed that people must be especially careful during the May and Easter holidays. Shmyhal called on Ukrainians to refrain from mass gatherings, as this could lead to a new wave of the coronavirus disease.
As Ukrinform reported, on February 17, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution on the introduction of adaptive quarantine in Ukraine until April 30, with four levels of epidemic danger.
