Ukraine to get over 47M doses of COVID-19 vaccine this year - Shmyhal
Ukraine will receive more than 47 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of the year, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
According to Ukrinform, he said this at a government meeting on Wednesday.
"Recent agreements suggest that by the end of the year Ukraine will receive more than 47 million doses of a [COVID-19] vaccine from various manufacturers. In particular, 20 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be delivered by the end of the year using state budget funds. This amount of the vaccine will be sufficient to fulfill the task on the full vaccination of most Ukrainian adults in 2021," Shmyhal said.
According to him, the pace of vaccination is accelerating, with 2,900 vaccination sites operating across the country.
As many as 143,328 people in Ukraine received COVID-19 jabs on Tuesday, July 27.
A total of 5,081,924 doses have been administered in Ukraine since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, with 3,264,713 people receiving their first dose and 1,817,211 people receiving both doses (two people received their first dose abroad).
