Ukraine to receive another 5M doses of COVID-19 vaccine in August – Liashko
Another 5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in Ukraine in August, according to Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.
He said this at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Ukraine's Image Abroad" presenting Independence Day events, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"Ukraine has already received almost 12 million doses of vaccine, of which 5.6 million are already protecting Ukrainians, about 6 million doses are waiting for Ukrainians, plus at least 5 million doses will arrive in Ukraine in August, and that's not all. We will continue to increase the pace of vaccine supplies to Ukraine," Liashko said.
He reminded that Ukraine is now in a green zone of epidemic danger. To preserve the green zone, it is necessary to vaccinate as many citizens as possible against COVID-19.
"We ask everyone to promote the vaccination campaign during all events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of our country's independence," the minister added.
On August 1, Ukraine recorded 265 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 2,553,534.
A total of 5,632,783 doses have been administered in Ukraine since it launched a vaccination campaign, with 3,599,167 people receiving their first dose and 2,033,616 people receiving both doses (two people received their first dose abroad).
