Kremin reminds about mandatory use of state language in tourism industry

Commissioner for the Protection of the Ukrainian Language Taras Kremin reminded about the use of the state language in the tourism industry in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports, referring to the commissioner’s press service.

"We work closely with different areas, different industries, with central authorities, local governments. In particular, with various tour operators. On the eve of the introduction of Article 23, we sent all the necessary recommendations and clarifications to those to whom this provision of the law directly applies. So that relevant work be carried out and the language law be observed,” Kremin said.

According to the Commissioner, his office will continue to cooperate with representatives of various fields, provide all explanatory information on the implementation of the language law.

"Ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language is a daily and extremely responsible work. The process of establishing the Ukrainian language will be effective depending on how effectively we cooperate and interact with various spheres, industries, with central authorities, local government bodies, how effectively Ukrainian citizens respond to possible violations of language legislation," Kremin added.

As reported, on July 16, 2021, parts 2-6, 8 of Article 23 of the Law "On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language" came into force, which regulates the use of the state language in the culture sector.
