Ukraine can increase Covid vaccination rates to 1.5M a week – Liashko

Minister of Health Viktor Liashko has said Ukraine is able increase Covid-19 vaccination rates to 1.5M shots a week, according to the ministry’s press service.

It is noted that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal instructed that the targets for the coverage of COVID-19 vaccination in Ukrainian regions to be set at 1.5 million shots per week.

“Each region, according to its capabilities, has received a certain number of doses to be given a day. All the set goals are real and have been approved, and certain regions, such as Poltava and Kherson regions, have already proved their ability to achieve the levels of vaccination coverage set by the government,” Liashko said.

It is noted that the latest vaccination record is 193,000 shots a day.

As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky insists on accelerating Covid-19 vaccination rates. He instructed relevant agencies to monitor the situation with the work of vaccination centers in the regions during the week, especially on weekends.
