Another seven regions may move to red zone - Chernyshov

The red level of epidemiological danger may be introduced in another seven regions of Ukraine, according to Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov.

"At a meeting of the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies, a decision was made to transfer Sumy region to the ‘red’ quarantine zone from October 23. And Zhytomyr, Luhansk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Chernihiv regions may move to it [red zone] in the near future, if they do not intensify anti-epidemic measures,” he said.

The minister reminded that five Ukrainian regions are currently in the red zone of COVID-19 restrictions.

As Ukrinform reported, the State Commission on Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Emergency Situations decided to establish the red level of epidemiological danger in Sumy region from October 23.
