COVID-19 in Kyiv: Klitschko says daily death toll hits 53 amid 1,204 new cases

Another 1,004 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Kyiv over the past 24 hours.

Fifty-three people died from COVID-19, Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko wrote on his Facebook page.

"In the past day, 1,204 confirmed cases were reported in the capital. Fifty-three people died. In total, throughout the pandemic period, 6,604 COVID-19-related deaths were confirmed in Kyiv. As of today, there have been 271,028 cases of the disease,” Klitschko said.

Over the past day, 688 women aged 18 to 93 contracted the virus, 446 men aged 18 to 94, as well as 36 underage girls from 6 months to 17 years old and 34 boys from 3 months to 17 years old.

Among those who died there were 27 women from 48 to 87 years of age and 26 men aged from 35 to 94.

Also, 158 coronavirus patients and 444 patients with suspected COVID-19 and pneumonia were admitted to the capital's hospitals over the past 24 hours.

The report says 865 patients recovered last day, bringing the number of recoveries to 235,176.

"The highest number of new cases was recorded in Obolonskyi district (337), Darnytskyi district (152), and Solomyanskyi district (118)," Vitali Klitschko said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine recorded 18,988 new coronavirus cases on November 8, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Health.

Since the onset of the pandemic, 3,107,489 people in Ukraine have contracted COVID-19, 2,537,565 have recovered and 73,390 have died. The total number of conducted PCR tests has reached 14,930,139.
