Vaccination in Ukraine: Over 6 M shots administered in Nov, health chief says

In November, some 6.5 million coronavirus vaccine jabs were administered in Ukraine.

That’s according to Minister of Health Viktor Liashko who spoke at a Kyiv briefing on Monday, November 29, Ukrinform reports.

"In Ukraine, 24 million vaccine shots have already been administered, with the largest number of performed in November – currently, it’s about 6.5 million. The right to health protection has already been exercised by 43% of the adult population who have received at least one vaccine dose. Also, 35% of Ukrainians over 18 have been fully vaccinated. Among the 60+ age group, more than 35% were vaccinated with at least one dose and almost 30% received full protection against coronavirus disease with two shots," Liashko said.

The health minister noted that since the launch of the inoculation campaign, more than 34 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been imported to Ukraine.

Liashko added that about 7.2 million doses of vaccine by Pfizer are expected to be delivered under this year's contracts. There are currently four vaccines available in Ukraine: AstraZeneca, CoronaVac, Pfizer, and Moderna.

As reported, 5,804 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine in the past 24 hours. In total, 3,427,827 people contracted COVID-19 throughout the entire pandemic period in Ukraine, of which 2,920,714 recovered and 85,414 died.
