"Yellow" quarantine zone expands, while 10 regions remain in "red" zone
As of the morning of December 11, the city of Kyiv and 13 regions are in the "yellow" zone of adaptive quarantine, while 10 regions remain in the "red" zone, and one – in the “orange” one.
That’s according to the Ministry of Health, Ukrinform reports.
Odesa region has been assigned to the yellow zone after the “orange-level” restrictions were lifted there.
Now the yellow zone includes the city of Kyiv and the following regions: Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Lviv, Odessa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, and Zakarpattia.
As of Saturday, only Donetsk region remains in the “orange” zone.
The red zone includes Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, and Zaporizhia regions.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, quarantine restrictions in the “yellow” zone of epidemic threat have been tightened since December 6. In particular, businesses operating in the “yellow” zone are responsible for verifying their clients’ vaccination certificates or documents confirming a negative COVID-19 test result.
New quarantine restrictions apply in the yellow zone of epidemic threat came into force on December 6. Namely, they apply to public institutions, theaters, cinemas, cafes, restaurants, gyms, hotels, and more.
The following is prohibited: operations of educational facilities if more than 50% of students and staff are in self-isolation; operations of educational facilities of not all employees have been vaccinated for COVID-19 with at least one dose; mass events; operations of cinemas, theaters, and other cultural facilities, as well as catering establishments and swimming pools; and operations of accommodation establishments (except hotels, sanatoriums, and social assistance institutions); as well as interregional and international transportation services.
These restrictions do not apply if employees, visitors (clients) hold a vaccination certificate (at least one dose), a coronavirus recovery certificate, or a negative COVID-19 test result.
At the same time, banks, gas stations, veterinary stores, pharmacies, and all grocery stores in yellow and red zones shall not be restricted as per new regulations, while anti-epidemic measures remain mandated, including wearing a face mask and maintaining social distancing at 1.5 meters.
The State Commission for Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies has decided to strengthen control over quarantine measures and lift the red level of epidemiological threat off Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Kherson, Luhansk, Lviv, and Rivne regions, as well as Kyiv.
For the past 24 hours, on December 10, Ukraine’s health officials confirmed 10,133 daily COVID-19 cases, while 2,307 patients checked in hospitals for COVID-19 treatment, 446 died, and 25,861 recovered.
