Almost 43% of adults in Ukraine fully vaccinated for COVID-19

Almost 40,000 new COVID-19 cases were registered across Ukraine throughout this week.

That’s according to a statement posted on Facebook by the Public Health Center, Ukrinform reports.

"Over the week, December 18-24, a total of 39,992 new COVID-19 patients were recorded in Ukraine, including 3,342 children and 906 medics. Also, 12,027 people were hospitalized and 1,791 died, while 101,829 recovered," the Center reported.

The officials reminded that the red level of an epidemic threat remains in place in Volyn and Zaporizhia regions. All other regions are now in the yellow zone.

Some 46.8% of the adult population have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, while 42.8% have been fully vaccinated.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, 3,637,038 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Ukraine since the onset of the pandemic, while 3,408,294 people have recovered. At the same time, the authorities confirmed 94,432 COVID-related fatalities.

As of December 23, Ukraine’s health authorities confirmed 6,647 new COVID-19 cases across Ukraine (519 of the new patients are children and 107 – medics).
