Vereshchuk: Ukraine will not recognize any COVID-19 vaccine made in Russia
Ukraine will not recognize Sputnik or any other Russian-made COVID-19 vaccine.
"We do not recognize and will not recognize Russian vaccine... The issue of recognizing Sputnik or Sputnik Light is not raised at all," Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said at a press conference on December 29, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
At the same time, Ukraine is ready to vaccinate all its citizens directly at the entry-exit checkpoints with the temporarily occupied territories, the official assured.
"We have the opportunity to provide vaccination for our citizens at the entry-exit checkpoints, such as Chonhar or Kalanchak, Stanytsia Luhanska," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Vereshchuk added that Ukraine provided world-class vaccines for its citizens.
On December 26, the Russian side put forward the recognition of the Sputnik V vaccine and the corresponding vaccination certificates of residents of temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions as a condition for the opening of entry-exit checkpoints on the contact line.
