Over 4,000 Ukrainians get COVID booster shots on Jan 5

More than 4,000 Ukrainians have received COVID-19 vaccine booster shots over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Health Ministry has said on Facebook.

"Some 104,844 people in Ukraine were vaccinated against COVID-19 on January 5. Some 29,997 people received their first dose, 70,164 people received their second dose, 643 people received an additional dose, and 4,040 people got booster shots," the statement said.

Since the launch of the vaccination program, 14,778,319 people have received their first dose, 13,905,862 have received both doses, 5,399 people have got an additional dose, and 11,596 people have received a booster dose. A total of 28,701,176 doses have been administered.

As was reported earlier, 6,632 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Ukraine on January 5.
