Estonia to provide over EUR 350,000 worth of humanitarian aid to eastern Ukraine

The Estonian Foreign Ministry will provide EUR 351,700 worth of humanitarian aid to Ukraine to support people living near Ukraine's eastern borders and help the country prepare for a possible migration crisis.

That's according to Estonia's public broadcaster ERR, Ukrinform reports.

"The conflict has affected the lives of almost five million people, with more than three million in need of humanitarian assistance. For many residents, the problem is the lack of medical care and utility services such as electricity, water and heating. These problems get more complex in the current difficult security situation, so we decided to support Ukraine with additional humanitarian aid to help alleviate the suffering of people living near the border," said Estonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Eva-Maria Liimets.

Earlier reports said that Sweden would allocate EUR 22 million to Ukraine annually within seven years as part of a new cooperation strategy to support reforms in the country.
