Total term of punishment of Crimean political prisoners exceeds 1,000 years
Eighty-one victims of political persecution were sentenced to imprisonment in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Their total term of punishment is 1,002 years and 2 months.
"Eighty-one people were sentenced to real terms of imprisonment. The total duration of their sentences is 1,002 years and 2 months. However, this figure grows every month with each subsequent sentence passed," CrimeaSOS reports with reference to analyst Yevheniy Yaroshenko.
The longest prison sentences were passed by judges Roman Saprunov – 215 years, Rizvan Zubayirov – 110 years, Alexandr Generalov – 92 years, Oleg Volkov – 88 years, Roman Plisko – 85 years. All five judges work in the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
"Judges of the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don give the most severe terms of imprisonment – up to 19 years in prison," Yaroshenko said.
