90% of Ukrainians back accession to EU, 73% want Ukraine to join NATO

Some 90% of Ukrainians support Ukraine's accession to the European Union, whereas 73% are in favor of their country joining NATO, according to a survey conducted by the National Democratic Institute in Ukraine on May 2-11.

The results of the study have been published on the website of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, Ukrinform reports.

According to the survey, 94% of respondents in western Ukraine, 93% in the center and north, and 84% in the east and south of the country would like Ukraine to join the EU.

At the same time, 82% of residents of western Ukraine, 79% in the central and northern regions, 59% in the east, and 65% in the south support the country's accession to NATO.
