Ukraine receives over 680,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid since beginning of war
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, more than 683,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid have arrived in Ukraine.
"Over the past week, more than 22,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid have been delivered to the territory of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the military aggression of the Russian Federation, more than 683,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid batches have arrived in Ukraine. We sincerely thank international, charitable, religious, non-governmental and private organizations, enterprises, and foundations," Deputy Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko said at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.
He also informed that more than 940,000 evacuees and internally displaced persons had been provided with accommodation as of today.
"I address everyone who lost their home or became an internally displaced person. On the instructions of President Volodymyr Zelensky, an online platform where one can find shelter in real time was created and functions successfully," Tymoshenko said.
On February 24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops massively bomb and shell peaceful Ukrainian cities and towns.
