Almost 23,000 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Ukraine over past week
Last week, almost 23,000 new coronavirus cases were recorded across Ukraine, including 203 lethal ones.
That’s according to the Ministry of Health, Ukrinform reports.
"For the period from Oct 10 to Oct 16, Ukraine saw 22,914 new confirmed COVID-19 patients (of which 2,439 were children and 456 - medical workers)," the statement reads.
Of them, 4,797 people were hospitalized, 203 patients died, and 34,576 recovered.
It is noted that 104,637 people were vaccinated for COVID-19 over the past week. Of them, 7.1% had their first dose, 4.8% -- the second shot, 75.1% - the first booster, and 13.1% -- the second booster.
Throughout the entire period of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine, 5,279,346 people contracted the coronavirus, of which 5,095,437 recovered and 109,819 died. At the same time, 32,495,903 COVID-19 tests were run.
Since the launch of the vaccination campaign, 16,146,963 residents of Ukraine have been vaccinated, of which 15,337,754 received two doses, 2,517,241 received the first booster dose, and 75,231 got their second booster.
The Ministry of Health recalls that almost 809,000 people never received the second dose, while more than 12.8 million had no booster administered.
