Dnipro and German city sign cooperation agreement

The mayor’s office of Dnipro and the municipality of the German city of Cologne concluded a cooperation agreement, which was signed during a video conference on October 27.

The press service of the Dnipro City Council said this in a statement, Ukrinform reports.

“We feel assistance from Germany, the German people. This is not only humanitarian goods. First, it is moral support. This agreement is not only about partnership and assistance to Dnipro. We want and know how to be friends. And after the Victory of Ukraine, relations with the city of Cologne will also develop in cultural, social and economic directions," said Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov.

Energy efficiency has been identified as a key area of cooperation between Dnipro and Cologne. According to Filatov, this is extremely important now, when Dnipro and other Ukrainian cities are subjected to Russia’s terrorist attacks on the energy infrastructure.

"Such a partnership between the cities is necessary to quickly achieve goals and provide assistance. Such an exchange should also create an impetus for reconstruction in Ukraine," said German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen.
