Thousands of Ukrainians, Iranians, and Burmese gathered in the center of New York on Broadway to protest against tyranny.

As an Ukrinform correspondent reports from New York, all three local communities agreed in advance to hold a joint rally on Sunday.

People carrying the national flags of the three countries chanted in different languages "Freedom to Iran! Freedom to Ukraine! Freedom to Myanmar!”

"Today, our countries are fighting for freedom against tyranny: the Iranian and Burmese peoples – against their own dictatorial regimes, Ukraine – against Russian tyranny," said Artur Zgurov, co-organizer of the rally, representative of Ukraine.

Member of the Kyiv City Council Dinara Habibullayeva, who was in the USA for volunteer aid reasons and took part in the rally, called the Russian, Iranian, and Burmese regimes the "axis of evil" against which our peoples were fighting.

The rally participants chanted her words: "Russia is a terrorist state!"

Mass protests engulfed Iran due to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini after she had been detained by Iran's so-called morality police. The regime in Tehran resorted to a brutal crackdown on protests, as well as other restrictive measures, including blocking the Internet.

In Myanmar, the local population protests massively against the military coup that took place in the country on February 1.
