Zelenska, Tkachenko present ‘Ukraine. Out of blackout’ project in Paris
First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska and Ukrainian Culture and Information Policy Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko have presented the project, ‘Ukraine. Out of blackout’, in Paris.
The relevant statement was made by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Ukraine. Out of blackout is the title of the project on a thousand-year history of Ukrainian art. It is expected to shed light on Ukrainian culture and its connection with Europe. Together with Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko, today we have presented this project at a meeting with French Culture Minister Rima Abdul Malak,” Zelenska wrote.
In her words, “the entire Ukrainian culture now is our ‘Out of blackout’, the way out of darkness”.
“We may have no electricity, but our culture gives us light. In return, we have to protect our heritage against the attacker,” Zelenska stressed.
In the course of the meeting, Zelenska, Tkachenko and Abdul Malak discussed the creation of a common European cultural front, urgent aid for Ukrainian cultural institutions (namely, to meet their equipment needs in order to help them pass through the winter period), and financial assistance to the cultural institutions destroyed in the Chernihiv region.
“Ukrainian culture is part of the world culture and is also invaluable for the world,” Zelenska added.
A reminder that First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Ukrainian government officials are paying a working visit to France.
