War with Russia will finally convince Ukrainians to celebrate Christmas together with civilized world – ambassador to Vatican

This year's circumstances encourage Ukrainians to realize the importance of celebrating Christmas together with the entire civilized world.

Ukraine's Ambassador to the Vatican Andrii Yurash said this on Ukraine's television.

"I am sure that unlike previous years when there were purely theoretical discussions, this year's circumstances will lead to a much faster transition process and Ukrainians' awareness of the importance of celebrating [Christmas] together with the civilized world," Yurash said.

The Catholic Church, Protestant churches, and most local Orthodox churches celebrate Christmas on December 25 according to the Gregorian calendar.
