Almost 4,500 Ukrainian schools work only in online mode – Shkarlet

Almost 13,000 schools in Ukraine work in full-time or mixed modes.

Ukrainian Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet said this during a nationwide telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, the educational process is carried out at 12,926 schools, of which 8,563 schools work in full-time or mixed modes. It is almost 70%. Other schools - 4,463 - work only in online mode. It depends on the security situation, the availability of bomb shelters, shelters that are currently set up in educational institutions," the minister said.

According to him, for security reasons, pupils study only online in five regions: Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Kherson.

As reported by Ukrinform, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, more than 2,600 educational institutions were damaged and 406 completely destroyed throughout Ukraine.
