Minister Tkachenko, European Commission representatives discuss proactive actions against propaganda
At the meetings with the European Commission leadership today in Kyiv, agreements were reached on the work of experts who should prepare an "informational Ramstein" meeting.
"A landmark meeting between the European Commission and the Government of Ukraine has ended. This is not only a symbolic visit of the European Union leaders to Kyiv, it is also a demonstration of an extremely large scale of work that took place over the past year in absolutely all areas and sectors," Minister of Culture and Informational Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko posted on Telegram.
According to the minister, he was impressed by the scale of cooperation between the commissioners and Ukrainian government officials: "Extraordinary amount of work from our side and help from the EU in all areas. But much work is still ahead."
Tkachenko praised the meetings with European Commission Vice-President for Promoting European Way of Life Margaritis Schinas and Vice-President for Values and Transparency Věra Jourová. The officials the expansion of opportunities to help Ukrainian culture and heritage, as well as the strengthening of information security – the transition from protection to proactive actions against Russian propaganda.
"We have agreed on the work of experts in the near future who should prepare a meeting within the framework of the ‘information Ramstein’ format," Tkachenko summed up.
