France to send fire engines, mobile DNA laboratory to Ukraine
France will continue a project on the supply of fire engines, reaching a maximum height of more than 45 meters, to the Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry, as well as hand over a mobile DNA laboratory to the National Police of Ukraine.
The relevant statement was made during a working meeting between Ukrainian Internal Affairs Minister Ihor Klymenko and Ambassador of the French Republic to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry.
In the course of the meeting, Klymenko stressed the importance of construction and supply of boats for the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, as well as deep humanitarian demining efforts within Ukraine’s water area. In his words, 30% of Ukraine’s territory has already been contaminated with mines and other explosives.
According to de Poncins, the production of boats is already underway, and the first units will soon be delivered to Ukraine.
The parties discussed further cooperation between France and Ukraine in order to strengthen Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces, provide the Ukrainian State Emergency Service with special equipment required for firefighting and demining efforts, as well as investigation into Russian war crimes within the territory of Ukraine.
Klymenko and de Poncins also considered the exchange of experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of soldiers, anti-corruption efforts and migration policy, namely aid to Ukrainian refugees.
