Ukrainian diplomats have honored the memory of the fallen Ukrainians and other prisoners of the Ebensee concentration camp in Austria.

This is reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.

“Ukraine remembers its heroes, both those who defend our freedom at the front now, and honors the memory of those who gave their lives during the Second World War. Historical memory makes us stronger in today’s struggle against the Russian aggressor,” Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna, said in a commentary to Ukrinfom.

Ukrainian diplomats laid a wreath and flowers at the monument to Ukrainian victims of the Nazi concentration camp and national monuments of other countries as a sign of honoring the memory of representatives of all nationalities who died in that death camp.

The Ukrainian monument in the form of a granite cross was opened in 1995. It has inscriptions in Ukrainian and German: “To the sons of Ukraine – victims of the Ebensee concentration camp.”

According to different estimates, several thousand Ukrainians died in the Ebensee concentration camp.
