Three more Swiss trams arrive in Vinnytsia
Three more Swiss Tram2000 trams have arrived in Vinnytsia to replenish the municipal electric transport fleet.
Serhiy Morgunov, the mayor of Vinnytsia, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Three more Tram2000 trams have arrived in Vinnytsia. Transporters are beginning to adapt these cars to Ukrainian requirements," the post reads.
As the Vinnytsia City Council told Ukrinform, the three cars are part of a batch of 35 Tram2000 trams that the municipality of Zurich (Switzerland) is handing over to the city.
They will replace the Mirage trams made in the 60s and 70s, which Vinnytsia received earlier as part of the Zurich Trams for Vinnytsia project, which has been going on for 15 years.
Vinnytsia transport operators have begun adapting the received trams to Ukrainian requirements and will start running in the summer.
As reported earlier, 19 Polish Solaris Trollino trolleybuses have been put into service in Vinnytsia this year.
